Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Contractor recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Regulation (FAR).
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the components offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item, Description, and except for any Government unique requirements specified, conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
4.2 Market acceptance criteria. No item of equipment offered under this CID shall be acceptable unless the manufacturer has sold equipment of the same size (similar capacity) and type in a commercial environment for a minimum period of one year. The sales results shall be statistically supported and sales data shall accompany bid proposals. Equipment installed for test purposes in a manufacturer’s plant or test laboratory shall not be considered as complying with this requirement.
5. PACRAGING
5.1. Packaging, packing and marking. Packaging, packing, and marking shall be specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.1).
